Progressive Christianity Denies God’s Truth

In Newest Book, “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Bestselling Author Dr. Michael YoussefWarns that Progressive Christians Have Abandoned the Lord’s Teaching

ATLANTA — Many so-called Christians today have abandoned the teachings of Jesus and the Bible and taken on a belief system that denies the power of the cross and the infallibility of the Word of God. In his new book,“Hope for This Present Crisis, Dr. Michael Youssef writesWhy do they deny two thousand years of orthodox Christian doctrine and tradition? I believe it’s because many of today’s false teachers want to be accepted and admired by the world. They don’t want to be lumped in with all those ‘rigid,’ ‘narrow-minded,’ ‘intolerant’ evangelical Christians. They want to be admired for their ‘enlightened,’ ‘open-minded,’ ‘inclusive’ approach to religion.

“These false teachers often label themselves ‘progressive Christians’ or ‘postmodern Christians’ or ‘post-evangelical Christians’ or ‘the emerging church.’ It sometimes takes a great deal of discernment to distinguish a progressive Christian from an orthodox, Bible-believing, evangelical Christian. Why? Because progressive Christians use the same words we use—but with very different meanings.”

Dr. Youssef points to the following progressive Christian “facts” that his readers should consider:

  • Progressive Christians say they believe the Bible is divinely inspired, but they do not mean it is the Spirit-breathed, infallible Word of God. They mean it is inspired the same way the plays of Shakespeare and the poems of Emily Dickinson are “inspired.”
  • Progressive Christians say they believe that God is love. But progressive Christians do not believe the cross is an expression of God’s love. Instead, they teach that a loving God would never punish sinners or judge sin or condemn an unrepentant, unbelieving sinner to hell.
  • Progressive Christians say they believe in the authority of Scripture. But they claim that Scripture has been misunderstood and misapplied for the last two thousand years of Christian history. They see themselves as the first Christians in history to understand what the Bible means, and which parts should be obeyed or ignored.
  • Progressive Christians say they believe in the resurrection. But if pressed, they will tell you that the resurrection of Jesus is a powerful spiritual metaphor, and a metaphor doesn’t have to be literal and historical to convey important truth.

“Our fallen, dying culture loves and approves of progressive Christianity, because this false form of ‘Christianity’ makes no moral judgments against sin and is perfectly aligned with a worldly, secular-left political agenda,” warns Dr. Youssef. “If you want to be approved by this dying world, simply abandon the foundational truths of Christianity: the Bible is the Word of God, we are saved by grace through faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ, Jesus arose and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and is coming again to judge the world. Then replace the Christian Gospel with a secular-left agenda of identity politics, climate change, unrestricted abortion and infanticide, LGBTQ politics, Darwinism, and on and on. Then tell the world, ‘This secular-left political agenda is real Christianity—those two-thousand-year-old dogmas from the Bible are fake.’

“If you adopt a secular social and political agenda, the world will love you. You’ll have many friends in this fallen and dying world. But the price you will pay is a state of enmity between you and God. Jesus said, ‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples’ (John 8:31). These so-called progressive Christians do not hold to the Lord’s teaching. They openly reject everything Jesus said about His blood, His death, and His atonement for sin. They openly reject His claim to be the way, the truth, the life—the only way to God the Father. To them, Jesus is a way, but not the way.

“Jesus warned against false prophets, claiming that though they appeared to be sheep, they were in fact wolves, seeking to devour their prey (Matt. 7:15-17). Today false teachers who claim to be Christians attack the foundations of Christianity. Wolves disguised as sheep are devouring the church from within.”

Toxic Behavior Versus Toxic Masculinity

New Book by Tim Clinton, ‘Take It Back,’ Explains That ‘Men Can Change by the Power of God’

LYNCHBURG, VA.— No doubt, men’s behavior can be toxic, or sinful if you want to put it another way. Society’s answer to this dilemma has been to label masculinity as toxic and to emasculate and feminize men. Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, said that he is raising his children, including his two sons, as feminists “to change our culture of sexism.”

In their new book, “Take It Back: Reclaiming Biblical Masculinity – The Heart and Strength of Being a Man,” Dr. Tim Clinton and Max Davis write that while this is the world’s solution, it is not working. “Instead it’s destroying men. While much of the behavior of many (not all) men is toxic, their masculinity is not. Men can change—and are changing—by the power of God. And that starts by dealing with our sin problem.

“Make no mistake about it—there is a culture of sexism and toxic behavior, even in the church. Women have been experiencing hurtful behavior by men for years. If you feel a sense of injustice to women, that’s the Spirit of God rising up in you. Jesus treated women with dignity and respect. The Word of God commands it. The good news is, men, you have a choice. You do not have to be ruled by toxic behavior, which is sin. Your masculinity is not sinful; it is good. Embrace it. The strength that can be used to mistreat women is the same strength and power that can be used to protect them, stand up for them (when you see wrongdoing by other males), and cherish them.

“Harness your masculinity for good. Strength under control is a strength that can be used for good. [Remember] that negative labels and statistics do not have to define what a man is or what a man can become—even if he has messed up or has exhibited toxic behavior.”

In “Take It Back,” Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), challenges readers to reject the culture’s redefinition and seek biblical examples of true manhood. Fast-paced, filled with relevant, biblical stories of godly men like David and Nehemiah, and contemporary stories of godly men like George Foreman and Tim Tebow, “Take It Back” empowers men to be who God created them to be and to impact the culture that is in desperate need of their influence. Study and discussion questions at the end of each chapter make “Take It Back” a perfect resource for men’s Bible studies and small groups.

Dr. Tim Clinton, EdD, LPC, LMFT, is president of AACC, the largest and most diverse Christian counseling association in the world. Dr. Clinton also serves as co-host of “Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk,” heard on nearly 1400 radio outlets daily. Licensed as a Professional Counselor and as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Dr. Clinton is recognized as a world leader in mental health and relationship issues and spends much of his time working with Christian leaders and professional athletes. He has authored or edited nearly 30 books. Dr. Clinton and his wife, Julie, have two children, and a granddaughter.

Max Davis is the author of over 30 books that have been featured in USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly, Bible Gateway, and on The Today Show and The 700 Club. He holds degrees in journalism and biblical studies. In addition to his own works, he’s done a variety of collaboration projects with highly notable leaders.

“Take It Back” was released on April 6, by Charisma House, which publishes books that challenge, encourage, teach and equip Christians.

Dr. Youssef: Failing to Adhere to Biblical Truth Will Be Devastating to Future Generations

In Newest Book, “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Bestselling Author Dr. Michael Youssef Says ‘Wokeness is a Religion Without Grace or Mercy’

ATLANTA — According to Dr. Michael Youssefif the Church fails to adhere to biblical truth, the consequences of wokeness will be devastating for future generations. The bestselling  author compares child-rearing to a “three-legged stool,” stressing the importance of a healthy home, church, and school environment.

“The home is number one, the church is number two and school is number three,” said Dr. Youssef. “Even if the school is working against the kids, if they have the strength in the home and in the church, they will make it. But when the church avoids talking about issues or goes along with culture, then kids are confused.

“Satan is working overtime to deceive children. If these words are terrifying, I’m glad they are because it’s time for us to build the fences around our children and their hearts and seal them with the Holy Spirit.

“Children must know that there is a Satan and he hates God, he hates God’s children, and he’s conspiring against them every minute of every day. Therefore, they have to galvanize themselves with the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, in order to fight.”

In“Hope for This Present Crisis,”Dr. Michael Youssef provides a diagnosis of the insanity of the current culture and a concise seven-step prescription for restoring sanity to a world gone mad. The new book is available through AmazonBarnes and NobleBAMChristianBook.com, and Leading The Way.

Dr. Youssef describes wokeness for his readers. “Wokeness is a religion. It has no God, but it has all the other trappings of a bullying, self-righteous, pharisaic religion. It demands absolute faith and mindless obedience. It has creeds and dogmas that no one dares to violate. Its doctrines can change without warning, and any who don’t get the memo will be stoned as heretics.

“People who transgress the rules of the wokeness religion may spend a lifetime atoning for their sin – but they’ll never be forgiven. Wokeness is a religion without grace or mercy.”

The Magic of Fiber: Dr. Don Colbert Explains How This Power Tool Leads to Optimum Gut Health

In His Latest Book, ‘Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,’ Dr. Colbert SaysThat Most People Need More Fiber

DALLAS — Arecent study concluded that increasing fiber in one’s diet improves health. The results of this study would not surprise Dr. Don Colbertwho, in his newest book, “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone” (DrColbertBooks), writes that if adults work to restore their gut health with fiber and eat the same gut-friendly foods, it is likely every single person would see improvement.

“That is how powerful the gut is,” Dr. Colbert says. “Once it is restored, it can put the rest of your body back together again. Of the five power tools I recommend for improving your gut health—fiber, probiotics, prebiotics, polyphenols, and resistant starches—fiber is one of the most important and adding more of it into your diet is a good place to start in healing your gut.”

How then do you get enough fiber? Dr. Colbert’s top recommendation for soluble fiber intake is psyllium husk powder. Psyllium is mainly a soluble fiber with some insoluble fiber from the seed husks of the plant Plantago ovata.

According to Dr. Colbert, one teaspoon of psyllium husk powder after breakfast and/or dinner will usually do the trick, as long as the patient is drinking sufficient amounts of water (at least eight cups per day).

Because fiber absorbs water, it increases the volume of your stools and helps move it all quickly through your GI tract. “Your body needs a quick process,” Dr. Colbert says. “Anything longer than the normal three-day cycle has the potential to cause you problems.

“Fiber is often called ‘roughage’ or ‘bulk,’ but it is far more than that. Your body desperately needs sufficient fiber every day, but most people are getting less than half of the fiber they need on a daily basis. Eventually, aim for 25–35 grams a day, and you can’t go wrong. Add that to sufficient water intake, and you will often begin to see the magic of fiber after a week or two.”

In “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Bestselling Author Dr. Michael Youssef Seeks to Reform Our Society

Dr. Youssef Tackles the Modern-Day Problem of Militant and Misguided Social Justice Activism

ATLANTA  In his new book, “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Dr. Michael Youssef tackles the modern-day problem of people who engage in militant and misdirected social justice activism. Dr. Youssef explains, “These people act as ‘warriors’ who consider themselves enlightened or ‘woke’ and who believe it is their duty to ensure that everyone shares their point of view, no matter what method they must use to carry out this duty.

“Increasingly radical activists are telling us not only what we can and can’t say, but what we must say—or else. The radicals exert pressure to enforce one point of view, even though it’s an extreme minority view. They allow no deviation, no nuance, no objection. Disagree with even one aspect of their agenda, and they will cancel you, shame you, and ruin you.

“Wokeness is a religion. It has no God, but it has all the other trappings of a bullying, self-righteous, pharisaic religion. It demands absolute faith and mindless obedience. It has creeds and dogmas that no one dares to violate. Its doctrines can change without warning, and any who do not get the memo will be stoned as heretics. In “Hope for This Present Crisis,” which is available to order through AmazonBarnes and NobleBAMChristianBook.com, and Leading The WayDr. Youssef calls on the nation’s Christians to take these steps:

1. Christians should morally and spiritually purify themselves—turning from sin and turning to God for forgiveness and restoration. He has promised, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.’ (2 Chron. 7:14)

2. Christians should pray for our nation. Dr. Youssef urges believers to thank God for our country and ask Him to send revival. Pray for God to turn every church and home into a house of prayer; ask Him to purify His people so that the bride of Christ would be faithful and holy; and ask Him to set us apart as His followers, consecrated to His service and the preaching of His Gospel.

3. Christians should persevere in sharing the Gospel with everyone around them. Whether people receive the good news with joy or reject it, never give up. Never stop witnessing.

Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone: The Seven Causes of a Leaky Gut

In His New Book, Dr. Colbert Reveals: For Decades We Have Medicated Rather than Fix the Real Issues’ and the Brain is Affected

DALLAS — Research has shown what doctors see every day in their offices — the most common causes of a leaky gut. According to bestselling author Don Colbert, MD, the causes that he sees most regularly are:

1.      Antibiotics

2.      Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

3.      Acid-blocking medications

4.      Genetically modified foods

5.      Chlorine in drinking water

6.      Pesticides

7.      Intestinal infections

“These substances usually cause the gut wall to begin to leak,” writes Dr. Colbert in “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,” (DrColbertBooks). “Once that happens, many of the typical foods we eat may make the situation worse. Consuming foods that you are unknowingly sensitive to causes even more inflammation in the gut. As a direct result, the bad bacteria in the gut often increase exponentially, and that reduces the good bacteria. In other words, we can say that many times leaky gut is due to chronic inflammation. If the root cause is not addressed, it is unlikely that your medical conditions can improve.”

Because of the leaky gut, inflammation is typically rampant. The body reacts to foods that individuals are not allergic to because the leaky gut leads to increased food sensitivities that lead to inflammation that eventually lead to sickness and disease.

“If you don’t heal the gut, all the inflammation and gut-related issues begin to affect your brain negatively,” explains Dr. Colbert. “For decades we have medicated rather than fix the real issues. It has been the normal procedure in doctors’ offices across the country and around the world, but we are finding that every major disease is usually connected back to the gut. And when the gut wall is compromised, the entire body is at risk.”

Readers of “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone” will learn that when someone is sick, obese, or diagnosed with a disease, his or her gut is usually not healthy. “Only rarely will you find a healthy gut in an unhealthy person. Instead, the gut is a reflection of what’s going on in the rest of the body,” states Dr. Colbert.

“The gut wall is made of cells that have little villi (tiny, fingerlike projections) on one side (the side that touches the food you eat), and on the other side, it has blood vessels that feed directly into your bloodstream,” continues Dr. Colbert. “The villi play a vital role in the absorption of amino acids, fatty acids, nutrients, and sugars from what you eat. Everything is broken down to minute simple sugars, fatty acids, and amino acids before absorption into the body is allowed. Whole proteins from food are naturally blocked until sufficiently broken down.

“But when damage happens in the gut, some of the little villi are flattened or broken off. The disruption of the villi allows the junctions between the gut wall cells to open; whole proteins and other molecules can then pass through, causing inflammation, sickness, and then disease.

“Many healthy cells are damaged and eventually destroyed. When this happens, the microvilli are not able to do their job, which prevents your body from absorbing all the nutrients that you need. This may lead to all sorts of problems, such as a weakened immune system, inflammation, or nutritional deficiencies.”

Focusing on the Ten Common Gut Enemies in New Book, Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone

Dr. Colbert Explains that the Common Enemies Come from the Inside

DALLAS —Leaky gut (often called increased intestinal permeability) and excessive bad bacteria (dysbiosis) set the stage for a limitless number of problems. In his new book, “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,” (DrColbertBooks), Dr. Colbert explains that these problems come from the inside, usually as a reaction to foods and medications.

“To make matters worse, many of the offending foods were once your friends—or at least were neutral—before they became your enemies,” Dr. Colbert writes.

According to Dr. Colbert, some argue that the best plan is to go on an elimination diet, but that will be truly helpful only after the gut has been restored. Until that point, Dr. Colbert explains that false readings will occur for the following reasons:

  • Bad bacteria are usually in control. Too much bad bacteria can result in inflammation, leaky gut, and immune reactions.
  • The gut wall is leaking.

“As soon as you have a leaky gut, other food sensitivities generally appear, but that is not all,” states Dr. Colbert. “Inflammation, a weakened immune system, and an increased risk for sickness and disease follow right behind. This is why it is so vital that you regain control in your gut.

“Usually, when the good bacteria are in control and the gut wall has healed, the inflammation subsides, symptoms disappear, and food sensitivities decrease. That is also when diseases will be able to fade away. Until that point, you will have to put up with ten common enemies.”

In “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,” Dr. Colbert lists the ten most common enemies the gut will be fighting:

  1. Gluten
  2. High-sugar, high-carb diet
  3. Dairy
  4. Lectins
  5. Artificial sweeteners
  6. Emulsifiers
  7. Saturated fats
  8. Constipation
  9. Stress
  10. Staying too clean

“When you have severe leaky gut and too much bad bacteria in your GI tract, you will usually find very few foods that don’t inflame your gut,” writes Dr. Colbert. “The temptation is to eat only these few things, but that is not a healthy long-term option.”

Bestselling Author Dr. Michael Youssef Looks to Revive the Church

In Newest Book, “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Dr. Youssef Confronts the Persecution of America’s Modern-Day Church

ATLANTA  Dr. Michael Youssef confronts a difficult subject in his new book,“Hope for This Present Crisis”— the persecution of the modern-day church in America. He references recent events where social activist warriors declared their desire to tear down statues of Jesus and other symbols of the church.

“The Marxist-inspired ‘woke’ radicals have proven that they seek the destruction of the church and the eradication of the Christian Gospel,” writes Dr. Youssef. “In August 2020, after two continuous months of protests and violent riots in the city of Portland, Oregon, rioters vented their rage against the Word of God. Activists holding signs reading ‘Black Lives Matter’ gathered in front of Portland’s federal building and set fire to a stack of Bibles.

“We are seeing [only] the beginning of the unfair treatment and persecution that lies ahead for the church. In the face of it, we are to respond as the early apostles did. They didn’t pray for safety. They didn’t pray for an easy life. No, they prayed for boldness. They prayed for the courage to speak God’s truth.

“And when their persecutors tried to silence them, they answered, ‘We must obey God rather than human beings!’ The time is now upon us when we must pray for boldness rather than safety. We must obey God rather than human beings … And at all times, we are to demonstrate the forgiveness and love of Jesus toward our enemies. We can heal our society and our nation [only] through Christlike love and grace.”

In “Hope for This Present Crisis,” which is available to order through AmazonBarnes and NobleBAMChristianBook.com, and Leading The WayDr. Youssef calls on the nation’s Christians to take these steps:

  1. Put on the full armor of God. Prepare for spiritual warfare—and remember that your enemy is not flesh and blood. Your enemy is Satan and his demons.
  2. Know what you believe and why you believe. Study the Scriptures. Learn how to explain to others why you believe the Bible is God’s revealed truth, why you believe in the historical reality of the resurrection, and why you are confident of your eternal life.
  3. Pray for opportunities to exercise your spiritual gifts. Every believer has spiritual gifts, and every believer must report for duty. God has a mission for you. Pray that He would reveal His calling to you in an unmistakable way. Tell Him, “Here I am, Lord. Send me.”
  4. Encourage your pastors and teachers. Pray for them. Encourage them to continue preaching the uncompromised Word of God with boldness and power.

Dr. YoussefConfronts the Problem of the American Government’s Denial of the People’s First Amendment Right of “the Free Exercise of Religion”

ATLANTA As our nation emerges from its political winter doldrums, Dr. Michael Youssef is urging Americans to awaken from their slumber and demand the respect for their religious freedoms as described in the First Amendment of our Constitution.

In his new book, “Hope for This Present Crisis,” Dr. Youssef boldly confronts the problem of the American government’s denial of the people’s First Amendment right of “the free exercise of religion” during the current pandemic, the misapplication of the right “peaceably to assemble” by unlawful protesters, and the misinterpretation of the right of freedom of the press to allow for suppressing the truth.

“When politicians talk about our freedoms, they often use the phrase ‘freedom of worship’ instead of the First Amendment term, the ‘free exercise of religion,’” Dr. Youssef writes. “Do the specific words matter? Yes, they do.

“‘Freedom of worship’ means you are free to worship inside your church anyway you choose. Many politicians, judges, and secular left activists want you to keep your religion behind the church doors, or no one else can see or hear it. They do not want you talking about your faith in the classroom, on campus, or in a public park. They do not want to see you praying or singing Christian songs in front of a government building.

“That is why the precise wording on the first amendment is so important. It guarantees the ‘free exercise of religion,’ not just ‘freedom of worship.’”

Dr. Youssef’s solution to this many-faceted problem related to the First Amendment involves the following steps, among others:

  1. Know your rights.Read the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Learn about the history of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Understand what the Constitution does and does not protect.
  2. Defend the rights of others. If someone has been unfairly attacked or silenced, speak up for that person. Speak out against injustice.
  3. Pray for boldness—and discernment. There is a time to speak out and a time to hold your peace. Pray for courage and wisdom to speak boldly in defense of God’s truth. Then speak the words He gives you to speak.
  4. Pray for young Christians in the media. For those who are parents, teachers, youth leaders, or pastors, and know young people who are in media, be an influential mentor to them. Cover them in prayer—they will need it. Support them as they seek to become salt and light in an increasingly dark and corrosive industry.

Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone: The Domino Effect of Gut Health Problems

Dr. Colbert: ‘The Dominoes Have Fallen — Thankfully, You Can Tip the Dominoes Back Up Again’

DALLAS — According to bestselling author Don Colbert, MD, it is important to understand domino effect of the gut. “The weakening process does not just happen suddenly,” writes Dr. Colbert in “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,” (DrColbertBooks). “It happens one domino at a time.”

Dr. Colbert explains that there are three dominoes that his readers need to consider.

  1. Domino 1: Early Gut Problems. The gut may initially be weakened by how individuals are birthed, what they are fed, and what they were medicated.
  2. Domino 2: Daily Choices. Individuals make daily choices about what they eat, how they live, what medication’s they take, what they drink, and much more. All this adds up to create issues in the gut, and the gut usually becomes more permeable or starts to leak.
  3. Domino 3: Foods We Eat. What individuals eat after the gut has started to leak creates a world of suffering, pain, discomfort, and disease. Those are all the symptoms that come into doctor’s offices every day.

“The point is, when we have symptoms that match a list of ailments and diseases – such as those hat affect the brain, lung, heart, mouth, body, autoimmune systems, skin, mood, sleep, and the gut – they are almost always the combined result of all the health choices we made up to that point,” explains Dr. Colbert. “Granted, some choices may have been out of our control and some may have been genetic, but they still apply. The dominoes have fallen. Thankfully, you can tip the dominoes back up again.”

Dr. Colbert’s newly released book is available through AmazonBarnes and NobleBAMChristianBookIndiebound and Walmart.

Don Colbert, MD, was a board-certified family practice doctor for more than twenty-five years in Orlando, Florida, and most recently in Dallas, Texas.
