Child’s Urgent Wish for a Family Touches America—Here’s Why, Says Dr. Tim Clinton

Faith Leader, Author of Compelling New Book ‘Focus on the Future,’
Highlights a Key Case That Has Touched—and Rightly So—the Hearts of Caring Americans

LYNCHBURG, VA.—All this kid wants is a family. All he wants is a mom and dad to love him unconditionally.

And now, after the desperate pleas of a motherless, fatherless Oklahoma boy named Jordan have gone viral, the child may finally have a shot at being part of a “forever family” that will nurture him, guide him, and raise this precious nine-year-old to be a strong, healthy, and well-rounded person in every way.

More than 10,000 Americans have reached out to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services this month to say they want to adopt little Jordan—proving the overwhelming power of family at a divisive time in our culture. The boy, who’s been in the agency’s care for six years, told news outlet KFOR, “I hope one of y’all pick me. I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad, or just mom, or just dad. I don’t really care.” His dreams of a loving family may soon be realized.

“The family is the answer to the vast majority of our social ills,” emphasizes Dr. Tim Clinton in his enlightening new book Focus on the Future: Your Family, Your Faith, and Your Voice Matter Now More Than Ever (Oct. 2020, hardcover). God ordained the home to be the place where hearts and hands were fashioned. God puts a premium on the home. It was the first institution ordained by God, and when it comes to shaping human lives, it is where the action happens.”

Clinton adds, “The rescue of the next generation is as simple as a return to the home, to relationships, and to loving mothers and fathers and the powerful impartation that loving families produce in the young.”

A noted faith leader who is president of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), Clinton believes that today, “the main way we rescue the next generation is to answer the heart cry of our children. ‘Dad. Mom. Be with me. Come here with me.’ It is the answer, truly, not only for our children but also for our nation,” he says.

In his book “Focus on the Future,” Clinton articulates these and other key points with authority and passion:

  • How to promote and restore the marriage contract and the family unit
  • How to resist the forces determined to destroy righteous masculinity
  • How to cure the loneliness crisis through relationships and community
  • How to lead and protect millennials and Gen Zers from today’s rampant temptations

Clinton is not just a wise counselor—he’s a warrior who challenges other warriors across our nation to join him in changing America one family at a time.

Dr. Tim Clinton is also executive director of the James Dobson Family Institute and cohost of Dr. James Dobson’s “Family Talk,” heard on nearly 1,300 radio outlets daily.

Licensed as a professional counselor and as a marriage and family therapist, Clinton is recognized as a world leader in mental health and relationship issues, and he has authored or edited nearly 30 books. Clinton and his wife, Julie, have two children, as well as a new granddaughter who has stolen their hearts.
