Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone: The Domino Effect of Gut Health Problems

Dr. Colbert: ‘The Dominoes Have Fallen — Thankfully, You Can Tip the Dominoes Back Up Again’

DALLAS — According to bestselling author Don Colbert, MD, it is important to understand domino effect of the gut. “The weakening process does not just happen suddenly,” writes Dr. Colbert in “Dr. Colbert’s Healthy Gut Zone,” (DrColbertBooks). “It happens one domino at a time.”

Dr. Colbert explains that there are three dominoes that his readers need to consider.

  1. Domino 1: Early Gut Problems. The gut may initially be weakened by how individuals are birthed, what they are fed, and what they were medicated.
  2. Domino 2: Daily Choices. Individuals make daily choices about what they eat, how they live, what medication’s they take, what they drink, and much more. All this adds up to create issues in the gut, and the gut usually becomes more permeable or starts to leak.
  3. Domino 3: Foods We Eat. What individuals eat after the gut has started to leak creates a world of suffering, pain, discomfort, and disease. Those are all the symptoms that come into doctor’s offices every day.

“The point is, when we have symptoms that match a list of ailments and diseases – such as those hat affect the brain, lung, heart, mouth, body, autoimmune systems, skin, mood, sleep, and the gut – they are almost always the combined result of all the health choices we made up to that point,” explains Dr. Colbert. “Granted, some choices may have been out of our control and some may have been genetic, but they still apply. The dominoes have fallen. Thankfully, you can tip the dominoes back up again.”
