Stephen Strang, Author of ‘God, Trump, and COVID-19,’ Praises the President’s ‘True Leadership, Authority, Strength, and Experience’
ORLANDO, FLA.—“Hidin’ Biden,” as some have dubbed Democrat nominee Joe Biden,was able to get through his acceptance speech last week on the final night of the (mostly virtual) Democratic National Convention. But so far, the former vice president has not done any major media interviews about his goals for the Oval Office—and some supporters even suggest he shouldn’t debate President Donald Trump at all in the fall.
In stark contrast—and as the Republican National Convention begins this week—the president speaks to the media nearly every day. He shares updates on the government’s coronavirus response and much more. Trump demonstrates he is fighting ceaselessly for all Americans—including those of faith— and the convention this week (Aug. 24-27) promises to reveal more of the same. As counselor KellyAnne Conway told the press, the president—during an “exciting” week—will share a “progress report” on his first term in office. Trump is set to formally accept the nomination on Thursday in an address at the White House itself.
Stephen E. Strang, founder of Charisma Media and author of the compelling new book “God, Trump, and COVID-19,” has interviewed President Trump a number of times. “Even when I first interviewed him in 2016,” says Strang, “he made clear there was a lot at stake, and I believe the same is true four years later. One of the biggest issues to born-again Christians is preserving the religious liberty we have always taken for granted. So I asked him how he would respect religious liberty at a time Evangelicals and Catholics have felt under attack for their pro-life convictions and biblical views on marriage.”
On these faith issues, Trump told Strang, “Religious liberty is the foundation. Without religious liberty you don’t have liberty. I feel that so strongly, and so many other people do, and plenty of politicians do, but they don’t express it. Religious liberty is something that I cherish, and you will never be disappointed.”
Yet if the Democrats somehow win in November, Strang believes a Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration “would stand for the removal of God from the public square and the erasure of our faith history.” Adds Strang, “Shame on them both for thinking they can get away with insulting the 80 percent of Americans for whom faith is the most important thing in our lives.”
In this election, Strang vows to do “all in my power to support President Donald Trump, someone who backs Americans of faith—and who displays true leadership, authority, strength, and experience.”
Under Trump’s guidance, the U.S. today is climbing out of the clutches of the China virus. America’s borders are more secure than ever, the military is strong, Americans’ religious freedom is intact—and economic signs are increasingly promising. Last week, the S&P 500 “soared to a new high,” as a Barron’s article on Friday noted. Even The Washington Post shared with readers last week, “Not only is the pandemic recession over, the economic outlook is actually growing brighter by the day,” as Chris Rupkey, chief financial economist for MUFG Union Bank in New York, wrote in a note to clients.
“Donald Trump is a leader, and at this point in American history we need a real leader who can get private enterprise and government—even the Democrats—to work together to take us through this crisis and find a vaccine for the deadly coronavirus,” Strang notes in his book “God, Trump, and COVID-19.”
To protect America, “Trump decisively closed travel from China and Europe, even though liberals accused him of overreacting,” adds Strang. Biden, by contrast, would have left our borders open and exposed—and the Democrat tossed out weak charges of “xenophobia.” “Yet Trump’s decisions not only proved right,” notes Strang, “but may have been a determining factor as to why the United States did not see the kind of numbers of those infected with COVID-19 the original models were projecting.”
